Academic Integrity

Capstone Commons supports learning, project management, technical judgment, and presentation readiness. The student remains the author and is responsible for following their institution, course, and instructor rules.

Before we quote

We ask whether the work is assessed, what external help is permitted, how AI may be used, what the student has already completed, and what outcome is requested. Each request is classified:

• GREEN: coaching, explanation, planning, diagnostics, review, debugging with the student, test planning, critique, or rehearsal.
• AMBER: the rules or requested contribution are unclear; work pauses until a human restricts and approves the scope.
• RED: the request is declined.

Not permitted

• Completing or submitting assessed work for a student.
• Taking an examination, quiz, interview, viva, or presentation as the student.
• Impersonation, unauthorized account access, fabricated data, results, citations, or evidence.
• Concealing authorship or bypassing plagiarism or AI-detection systems.
• Guaranteeing a grade, approval, originality score, or detector result.

Integrity Passport

Approved projects record the allowed scope, milestone evidence, artifact versions, student decisions, mentor and AI contributions, sources, and explanations demonstrated by the student. We may stop delivery if the student cannot show ownership or if course rules change.

Safe alternatives

When a request is not permitted, we may offer tutoring, review of student-owned work, a self-completion plan, general examples that do not answer the assessment, or presentation rehearsal.
